Australia Day

On January 26th 1788, the First Fleet of convict ships arrived at Sydney Cove. Today, January 26th is celebrated as "Australia Day".
It is a day when you will see little flags on everything...

... and on everybody!

Aboriginal people are divided on the subject. For many of them, 26th of January is "invasion day". But others do celebrate, with their own colours. Black for Aboriginal people, yellow for the sun, the constant re-newer of life, and red for the earth and peoples' relationship to the land.

Many concert were held in the Rocks... It was crowded.

Mojo Juju and the Snake Oil Merchants were really good and full of positive energy.

Then I got lost in some green...

... And it started to rain heavily... This was the end of the party!
